Hands belong to great-niece Reesa Lerner.
Born February 6, 1919 | Campulung, Romania
Died February 14, 1993 | Calgary, Canada
Fritzy led a very quiet life and tried not to think too much about the past.
Very little is known about Fritzy’s life prior to and during the Holocaust.
Like her, Fritzy’s father and brother survived the Holocaust. The details of their experiences and the fates of other family members are no longer recalled. Fritzy married Solomon Feuerwerger after World War II. They remained in Romania until 1962, when Solomon’s brother, Benny Katz, sponsored their immigration to Canada and brought them to Calgary. Fritzy and Solly did not have children of their own, but they developed close bonds with their nephews and nieces, especially Frieda and Penny Kates, the daughters of Solomon’s other surviving brother, Eli, and his wife Roza. Fritzy continues to be remembered with fondness.
